From facade to family home
Begin in the garden and let your child choose a striking colour or shape on the facade, then look for it again in the rooms open to visitors. The mix of architectural traditions offers plenty to compare. You could ask how a room was used rather than needing to identify every decorative style or remember a sequence of construction dates.
Give the visit one focus
You could spend around 30–45 minutes on the exterior and a few interior spaces, ending with each child choosing a favourite detail. Siblings of different ages can look for different things and compare discoveries afterwards.
