Yen So Park offers space to slow down in southern Hanoi. Lakes, paths and lawns make the landscape the activity itself, so a family can arrive with a modest walking plan instead of looking for a fixed sequence of attractions to complete.
Choose one lakeside section
Try choosing a single view of the water and noticing how trees, sky and people change around it. A young child might be interested in a shadow or a leaf's shape; an older one could compare what is reflected with what stands above the water. Stay on permitted paths and keep observation away from the edge. If an accessible lawn is dry and open, it can provide a different surface to look across.
Return along a familiar route
Choose the entrance and return point before walking far. You could follow one lakeside stretch, stop while everyone is comfortable and retrace the route, letting children recognise details they passed earlier. Returning the same way can turn familiar landmarks into a simple memory game. With a stroller, avoid adding distance just because the next view seems close; leave enough energy and time to reach the pickup point without rushing.
Prepare for an expansive park
Bring water and sun protection, and check notices after heavy rain. Keep children back from lake edges. Ask current management about rentals, cooking or group arrangements rather than relying on older vendor offers; the park changed management in February 2026.
