Cham performances at My Son offer a musical pause within a visit to the sanctuary’s temple groups.
Location matters as much as timing: some sessions take place at the foot of Group G, while others are scheduled in the Performance House, shaping the route families should choose.

Look at gesture and listen for instruments
Apsara dance, Cham instruments and folk songs feature in the programme. Children can watch hands, footwork and the way music guides movement without needing to understand an entire narrative on first viewing. Older visitors might choose one costume detail or gesture to remember afterwards. The performance adds a living artistic form to the architectural visit, while still leaving space to appreciate the temple groups as a separate part of the day’s exploration.
Build the walk around the correct stage
The schedule applying from 16 March 2026 places the 09:00 and 14:45 sessions at the foot of Group G. Sessions at 09:45, 10:30, 11:15, 14:00 and 16:00 are assigned to the Performance House. Choose one that fits your temple walk rather than hurrying between locations to catch several. A planned music break can change the pace after time outdoors and help keep the rest of the route manageable for children.
Leave energy for the sanctuary
My Son is in My Son hamlet, Thu Bon commune, Da Nang. Before travelling, confirm the day’s performance arrangements, admission and the time needed to reach the chosen stage. Bring water and sun protection, and avoid touching historic structures. The separate monthly “Echoes of My Son” programme has its own arrangements; do not build a visit around it using the ordinary daytime timetable. One performance and a selective temple route can be enough.
