The branch at 66 Điện Biên Phủ tells Hải Phòng’s story as a port city. Its historic building and galleries connect the natural setting with work, trade and urban life.
A city connected to the sea
Natural history, local history, transport and crafts help explain things families may notice while travelling through the city. A vehicle or an object associated with trade can introduce the people who moved goods towards the port. The architecture is also part of the experience: pause outside to look at the building before turning your attention to objects in the cases.
Find one trace of trade
Try beginning with the question of what jobs a port city needs. Choose one gallery theme to explore together, then let children distinguish an original object from a photograph or model. Afterwards, connect it with one detail you noticed in the streets. Linking the museum to the city outside gives children a story of their own without needing to complete every room.

This is not the branch at 11 Hồng Quang. The special exhibition announced for 8 May–8 July 2026 has ended; ask about current galleries, hours and admission before travelling. With younger children, enquire about stroller routes and resting places, and choose wartime material with their readiness in mind.
