Make a maritime connection
The maritime-culture displays offer a clear route through a museum with several exhibition floors. Try examining a boat model together, looking for its mast, hull and unfamiliar parts. Reading one label can lead to a conversation about how people travel and work beside the sea, without needing to follow the city's entire history during a single family visit.
Objects, images, then the river
You could allow about an hour for a themed gallery, some projected material and the children's area if open. Let children choose between watching more images and returning to an object they liked. If everyone still has energy, a short riverside walk afterwards gives them a chance to look at the city with the questions that emerged inside the museum.
The right branch and route
Use the 31 Tran Phu branch, not the Tam Ky location. The museum currently publishes daily 08:00–17:00 hours. Check lift access, children's activities and any documents needed for concessions. For children sensitive to sound or darker screening spaces, begin with still objects and choose media selectively.
